So, it waits for the drive to report back that cached data has been written to the magnetic media. If you're more concerned with performance than the integrity of your data, turning off write-cache buffer flushing skips that extra command to flush the internal RAM buffer. For a more detailed explanation of flushing and the risks associated with turning it off, check out Microsoft employee Raymond Chen's personal blog post on the topic.

Page Conclusion. Topics Corsair. See all comments Indexing is not used to access files more quickly. It's used to find files more quickly in search. Disabling indexing will result in slower searching. Hibernation: Amount of space saved by turning this off is equivalent to the amount of RAM in your system.

Also, hibernation has benefits over standby where hibernation will allow your system to return to a fully working state after removing power whereas standby requires power to still be supplied to your system. Or what would you suggest? Well, there could be other issues in your computer that makes it unstable. So Superfetch magically makes work disappear? MS have basically got this one fundamentally wrong. Second guessing and bringing in wast amounts of things that may never been used will likely push out things that are being used -at least the effect it seems to have on my oh so underpowered 4 core 8GB RAM machine.

My dear Jonathan Hu, what you write is what I would call fucking bullshit. Superfetch fails to predict my usage patterns for the logical reason that they are unpredictable.

In this situation a faster launch time for some application is quite theoretical I generally have time to wait for 30 seconds but usually not for five minutes. So, it is better to just discard the Superfetch nuisance. As far as I can tell, even though the cached memory is suppose to give up cached RAM in preference to the programs, it never does for my games. I have a computer that has 2. Superfetch and other caching processes were suppose to improve performance to some extent but it did the exact opposite of what was desired in multiple cases.

Windows sysyems are worst than any other OS i swear it…. Next of Windows. Microsoft Announces Windows July 15, What is SuperFetch? Something is up with the way Win7 handles disk writing. Im with you, this is fuck. Just deactivate the service and everything will be faster.
